Pushing against the grain
Kenny Lawler
Kenny Lawler is the top wide receiver, in the Canadian Football League. He has returned to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, this season, to bring home another Grey Cup Championship. His passion is to impact underprivileged communities through sports, using his platform, reach, and time to mold our youth and provide resources and services to underserved communities.
"I am intentional about being a positive influence, particularly for young individuals who may lack the support they need to thrive regardless of their environment. I have witnessed friends, fans, and others in various communities, both in the United States and Canada, who have been left behind due to the absence of such guidance. It is my deep-rooted passion to make a difference and to be that person who can help any child overcome their challenges. With the character traits I have developed through football, such as a strong work ethic, determination, persistence, humility, responsibility, adaptability, and leadership, combined with the support of my network, I intend to bring these passions to life. My goal is to make a meaningful impact on communities in both the United States and Canada, whether through sports, video games, or even the exploration of medicinal cannabis. These future opportunities will not only benefit the youth and our communities but also contribute to the growth of the Kenny Lawler Brand and the values we stand for. Additionally, it will provide support to other brands seeking to align with our vision."

Kenny knows life's learning process can be complicated sometimes. Factors like poor education, poverty, environment, lack of resources, and scarce positive influences can create huge roadblocks. Kenny is living proof that sometimes; all you need is encouragement and the knowledge of how to turn inspiration into powerful tools for success. That's why he holds youth camps, volunteers with outreach programs and churches, serves on the board of a non-profit, and donates clothing and household items to local programs which impact youth and their families.

Kenny Lawler is a 28-year-old, professional Canadian Football League (CFL) player, who has made a name for himself on and off the field. Born and raised in Pomona, CA, Kenny's passion for football began at the age of 5. He played for various little league teams in Southern California, showcasing his talent and earning 25+ scholarship offers to play Division 1 football after graduating from Upland High School.
Kenny's journey continued at the University of California, Berkeley (Cal), where he studied Sociology and played football for 3 years, setting records along the way. In 2016, he was drafted in the 7th round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He spent most of his time on the practice squad before being released midway through the 2017 season. Kenny then made the decision to play football in Canada and joined the B.C. Lions in the spring of 2018. However, his time with the team was short-lived as he suffered a hamstring tear during training camp and had to return to the States for rehabilitation.
Despite the setback, Kenny remained determined and received an opportunity from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in September 2018 for a month-long tryout. He left a lasting impression and was offered a contract to stay with the team and compete for a starting job in the following year. In 2018, Kenny started 19 out of 21 games, becoming the team's leading receiver in yards and touchdowns. He was also named the rookie of the year for his team, rated the #1, next generational rookie, by TSN, and went on to win the CFL championship, the Grey Cup.
Kenny's success continued in the 2021 season as he led the league in receiving yards and was the only 1000-yard receiver. He helped his team win another Grey Cup, making history in 2022 by becoming the highest-paid wide receiver in CFL history when he signed with the Edmonton Elks. Despite a challenging season for the team with a 4-14 record, Kenny played 12 games, leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns, and was named the most outstanding player in 2022. Despite his success on the field, Kenny's true passion lies in serving his community. He devotes much of his time to training and developing young players. He works tirelessly to instill values of discipline, teamwork, and hard work in the young players he trains through his youth football training programs. Outside of football, Kenny is married to Myannah Jacobs- Lawler and they have one 6-year-old son together. Both Kenny and Myannah are committed to using his platform to raise awareness for various social issues in underserved communities. Together they emphasize the need to give back to the community, often volunteering at local schools, churches, and non-profit organizations.
Kenny also provides football training in group and individual settings to the youth of Winnipeg and surrounding areas. He’s also actively organizing his first Youth camp in the city, set to take place in July 2023. Through camps and training, Kenny provides an excellent opportunity for young football players to learn basic football skills, build relationships, and have fun. Through his dedication to football and his community, Kenny Lawler has established himself as an expert, educator, speaker, and trusted advocate for youth. His commitment to building stronger communities through youth football training and community outreach continues to inspire and motivate many.
